Process and Secular Theology
Secular and process theology, are terms that have more definitions and be stupefys difficult to fully define. However, many terms come into adjoin when discussing theology terms such as temporal, existentialism, religionless Christianity, and finite among others. This theme will aim to give background know guidege on the two men who conceptualized these theologies in an effort to focus on what these theories actually mean.
Dietrich Bonheoffer, a German contemporary of both Barth and Tillich during the snip of Hitlers regime, was of Lutheran heritage. His influence among many stemmed from his former(a) writings and his prison letter. He was executed in 1945 for his help in a group purposed to assassinate Hitler, (Hordern 1955, p.211).
Bonheoffers letters from prison and his early writings depicted a champion of criticism toward both the Protestant and Lutheran churches. He criticized them for treatment cheap grace and informed them that, the grace of God was high-priced and that forgiveness without repentance could not be achieved, (Hordern 1955, p.214). Bonhoeffer strongly disagreed with Liberalisms ideology of natural theology.
He believed that revelation of God came done Christ, (Grenz & Olsen, 1992 p.150). His disappointment of the role of Liberalism to disciple the world led him in the direction to write more about his tardily thoughts and questions regarding religion, Christianity, and the role of the church building in society.
In the writings of Bonhoeffer, he coined the phrases the world comes of age and religionless Christianity.
