Porraimos is a gypsy enclosure meaning, the devouring. Starting in the year A.D. 900, when the Roma and Sinti traveled from India, to mainly Eastern Europe, they were discriminated against because of their dark skin, mysterious origin, fortune telling, and wandering ways. From then on, things just got worse for the Gypsies. Many countries tried to discard them from their countries and force them to settle. People were worried that the Gypsies would steal their chicken and yeasts, so when Gypsies would arrive, they would lock up everything. Starting in the mid 1930s, the Nazis began to round off up Gypsies, and they were deported to internment camps, which eventually became field laboratories for Nazi eugenicists. closely half a million Gypsies were murdered by the Nazis, and about who survived spoke in this film. Those who spoke talked mainly about how life history was for them and their families before the camps and during the camp, as well as their family members who survived or didnt make it out.

Right from the very beginning the movie uses stills and motions clips to help portray what the lifestyle of the Gypsys were in truth like. When the interviewer was saying that trading horses was a popular occupation and that his beginner too was a horse trader we dont grasp the extent to how popular horse trading was until we watch over the motion pictures. The motion pictures showed clips of men crowding around hundreds of horses and bills being passed out for the exchange of the horses creating a better signified of what the scene of trading horses was really like.
