The French Revolution
The sense brought many changes in people lines with their view of worship and government aspects. The Enlightenment helped to shape the policies of the French Revolution. The Enlightenment ideas nigh religion and society shaped the policies; it was a time of increase interest in learning, logic, and reason. Traditional beliefs were re-examined and sometimes rejected astronomic studies led to the replacement of the geocentric theory with the heliocentric theory. Enlightenment thinkers believed that the universe was not governed by random chaos, but was designed to follow fixed sets of laws. They believed that understanding these laws was the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe. John Locke argued said, That the world-beater did not have divine right to rule, so their business office should be limited.
Under the rule of Catherine the Great, Russia was rapidly modernizing as the Russian elite embraced western technological advances, fashions, food and art at great financial costs to the entire country. Land owners increase the tax burdens on their serfs to counter balance their expensive timeworn of living. Pleasants in turn engaged in mass protects and rebellions by means of escaping, rioting and engaging in insurrections against the aristocracy. The way people viewed governmental and social policies, citizenship, democracy, and human rights were all important aspects of the Enlightenment. As a result the phrase Liberty, equality fraternity became a popular slogan of the French Revolution. Revolution offered a chance to consume these ideas a reality.
